LICENSURE BY SPECIALTY EXAMINATIONSpecialty Examination Application ProcessApplicants wishing to apply for a Texas dental license by specialty examination must contact the Western Regional Examining Board (WREB) at (602) 944-3315 or www.wreb.org for further information and applications to register for the Northeast Regional Board (NERB) (www.nerb.org) specialty examinations offered in Chicago each summer. All NERB exam results must be dated within the last five years. Each applicant for licensure by specialty examination must: 1) Successfully complete training in an American Dental Association approved 2) Accreditation of the American Dental Association; or have been certified by an American Dental Association approved specialty board that the applicant is, or at any time, was recognized as "Board Eligible". 3) Be currently and actively licensed in another state, the District of Columbia, or territory of the United States provided that such licensure followed successful completion of a general dentistry examination administered by another state or regional testing service. 4) Have taken and passed a specialty examination administered by a regional examining board designated by the State Board of Dental Examiners. 5) Complete all criteria for general licensure as outlined in Rule 101.1(a).
