Online Services

Very Important
:  All fees paid online are non-refundable
.  Be sure that you meet all the requirements for the type of application you are submitting before you pay online. 

Instructions for Applying or Renewing Using the Online Application Systems

Renewing Online: 
-  Dentists and Dental Hygienists with a full privilege license may renew online.  (Licensees with a military exemption must renew by mail.)
-  Dental Assistants who hold an RDA Certificate or Pit & Fissure Sealant Certificate may renew online.   
-  Dental Laboratories may renew online. 

Applying Online
-  Only Dentists and Dental Hygienists applying for a License by Examination may apply online.
-  Dental Assistants applying for a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) Certificate may apply online.

How to Apply or Renew Online
To apply or renew online you must first register for a secure online account with the State of Texas Licensing System Online Application System.

Online account registration is a one-time only process.  You will need a valid e-mail address to register your secure online account, and this e-mail address will become your User ID. 

A temporary password will be sent to the e-mail address you use to register your secure online account, and you will be asked to select a new password when you first attempt to login.  If you do not receive your temporary password within 30 minutes, please check that it was not marked as spam and sent to your spam inbox.  You must enter the temporary password exactly as it appears in the e-mail.

Renewing a License or Registration
Once you have created a secure online account and logged in to the system, you need to select "Add Licenses to Registration" to your online account.  Please choose the correct license type.

            1.  Social Security Number   (no dashes)
            2.  Birthdate   (in MM/DD/YYYY format)
            3.  Zip Code    (must match the zip code of the address on file with the Board)

If any data you enter does not match the data currently in the system, you will not be able to add your license or registration to your online account and will need to contact the Board office via e-mail to verify your information. 

Applying for a New License or Registration
Once you have created a secure online account and logged in to the system, you may apply for a new license.  Please choose the correct license type then select "Apply for New License".  Follow the prompts to answer required questions and pay your fee.  After paying your fee online you will receive an e-mail copy of your Online Application Summary and Dental Board Online Receipt.   Mail a copy of your original application, supporting documents and a copy of your Online Application Summary and Online Receipt to the Texas Dental Board for further processing. 

Your Application Fee and Initial Renewal Fee -- What's the difference? 
Both fees are required to obtain a license or registration.  Once your application has been approved you will receive a letter in the mail with more instructions for paying your Initial Renewal Fee.  The Initial Renewal Fee is a separate fee from the Application Fee you have already paid. 

Once your Initial Review Fee is paid your license/registration status will change from "Expired" to "Active".  You should receive your new license/certificate in the mail 7-10 business days later.

Note on Criminal Convictions or Disciplinary Action:  If you have past criminal convictions or disciplinary action, your application and the required documentation but be reviewed by the Board's Legal Staff to determine your fitness to be licensed or registered. All documents must be sent to the Board within 10 days of submitting your application online.
